Terms and Conditions of Sale
PLEASE READ THIS DOCUMENT CAREFULLY. IT CONTAINS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS, INCLUDING LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS THAT MIGHT APPLY TO YOU.
These terms and conditions apply to the purchase and sale of products and services through shop.ElectricMotorShop.com (“this platform” or our “e-commerce site”). By placing an order for such products and services, you agree to be bound by and accept these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you should not obtain products or services from this platform. These terms and conditions are subject to change by Electric Motor Shop (referred to as “EMS,” “us,” “our,” or “we”) without prior written notice at any time, in our sole discretion. The latest version of the terms and conditions will be posted on this platform, and you should review these terms and conditions prior to purchasing any product and services that are available through this platform. These terms and conditions are an integral part of the Electric Motor Shop Website Terms of Use (“Terms of Use”) that apply generally to the use of the EMS Site (including the ElectricMotorShop.com website). You should also carefully review our Privacy Policy before placing an order for goods or services through this platform.
- Order Acceptance and Cancellation
Your receipt of an electronic or other form of order confirmation does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept, decline, or limit your order for any reason, whether or not your credit card has been charged. If you are ordering as business and your company credit card has been charged and your order is canceled you will receive a prompt refund credit to your business account. We reserve the right at any time after receipt of your order, without prior notice to you, to supply less than the quantity you ordered of any item.
Once an order has been placed, it cannot be cancelled unless the shipment is unavoidably delayed. In this case, we will do our best to cancel the order if requested.
We make every effort to maintain the availability of our e-commerce site. However, should we experience technical difficulties, we are not responsible for orders that are not processed or accepted.
- United States Orders Only
We cannot accept orders from outside the United States.
- Payment Terms and Sales Taxes
Terms of payment are within our sole discretion and, unless otherwise agreed by us in writing, payment must be received by us prior to our acceptance of an order.
We accept credit cards for all purchases. You represent and warrant that (i) the credit card information you supply to us is true, correct and complete, (ii) charges incurred by you will be honored by your credit card company, and (iii) you will pay charges incurred by you at the posted prices, including all applicable taxes, if any.
Purchase orders from businesses may be accepted upon approval of credit and payable on terms as we may approve or require.
All payments must be in United States dollars. Current billing address and phone information must be included with every order. You agree to pay interest on all past-due sums at the highest rate allowed by law. We retain a security interest in the products and all proceeds thereof until the full purchase price therefore (including taxes and additional charges) has been paid.
Charges for shipping and handling will be made in accordance with our then-current shipping policies, as described below.
- Changes in Products and Pricing
We are constantly updating and revising our offerings of products and services, and we may discontinue products and services at any time without notice. To the extent that we provide information on availability of products or services, you should not rely on such information, and we will not be liable for any lack of availability of products or services that you may order through this platform. All pricing for the products and services available on any of our websites is subject to change. For all of our prices and products, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, product discontinuation, manufacturer price changes, errors in advertisements, and other extenuating circumstances.
- Manufacturer’s Warranty
If applicable, manufacturer’s warranties apply from the date of shipment. You understand that we do not operate or control the products or services offered by the manufacturers participating on our e-commerce site, and you agree that under no circumstances will we be liable for any damages arising out of the failure of any manufacturer to fulfill its obligations to you under any warranty, repair, customer support or similar policies covering products and services that you may purchase through our e-commerce site.
While we do not offer any warranties with respect to the products and services available through this platform, we are committed to working with you to ensure that every product under warranty performs to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Freight Policy
Title and risk of loss pass to you upon EMS’s tender of product to the shipping carrier. Products shipped to destinations in the contiguous United States will be delivered FCA Point of Origin, Incoterms® 2024.
- General Shipping & Delivery, Refund, Return, and Exchange Policies
Please refer to Shipping & Delivery Policy, Order Cancellation Policy, Missing Orders Policy, and our Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges Policy, each of which is posted on the EMS Site. These policies set forth your sole and exclusive rights with respect to return of products and services that you may purchase through our e-commerce site.
We offer a variety of shipping options to meet your shipping needs. We use only premium carriers (UPS and FedEx) with various delivery options available for many items. Please check the individual product page for specific delivery options. All deliveries are insured and guaranteed against loss, theft and damage. All shipping prices are quoted in United States dollars. No C.O.D. orders can be accepted, unless otherwise approved by EMS in writing.
All delivery dates are estimates. The posted shipping time frame is listed on the individual product page and may vary from item to item. There may be occasional delays beyond the posted order processing time. The posted shipping time frame is contingent upon credit card approval and may be delayed should we experience difficulties in obtaining authorization.
We offer a 30-day return policy on selected items based on the manufacturer’s return policies. To return products, you must call (800) 970-5859 or e-mail us at internet.sales@electricmotorshop.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping your product. No returns of any type will be accepted without an RMA number. For faster service, please have the following information on hand when calling for an RMA number: customer name, invoice or order number, SKU number, and nature of the problem.
To expedite the processing of your refund or credit, we ask that products be returned within 30 days of the date that we issue the RMA. All returned products MUST be 100% complete, contain ALL original boxes and packing materials, have original UPC codes on the manufacturer boxes, and contain all manuals, blank warranty and registration cards, and other accessories and documentation provided by the manufacturer. You are responsible for shipping charges on returned items; we will match your shipping method on your replacement or exchange item(s). You must insure the shipment or accept the risk of loss or damage during shipment. We strongly recommend that you fully insure your return shipment against loss or damage and that you use a carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery for your protection.
If your order arrives in a damaged condition, save the merchandise AND the original box and packing it arrived in, and notify us immediately to arrange for a carrier inspection and a pick up of the damaged merchandise.
DEFECTIVE returns can be returned directly to us within 30 days from the invoice date for, at our discretion, credit, replacement, exchange or repair. Manufacturer restrictions do apply. Any item that is missing the UPC can ONLY be replaced with the same item. After 30 days, all manufacturers’ warranties apply and you should contact the appropriate warrant service provider identified in the product description.
NONDEFECTIVE returns can be accepted directly by us within 30 days from the invoice date for, at our discretion, credit or exchange. All NONDEFECTIVE returns are subject to a restocking fee.
Some manufacturers do not accept returns of certain items for exchange, replacement or credit FOR ANY REASON, and you should check the information provided with the description of the particular product. DEFECTIVE merchandise can be returned for REPAIR only to the manufacturer directly or to any authorized service center in your area. See the description of the particular product for warranty information as provided by the manufacturer.

These Shipping & Delivery, Refund, Return, and Exchange terms are accepted by you by placing an order with us.
- Advertising Disclaimer and Trademarks
The descriptions of products and services that are posted on this platform are the representations of our suppliers. We are not responsible for the accuracy of such descriptions, nor are we responsible for typographical, pricing, product information, advertising or shipping errors.
In the event a product or service is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to typographical error or error in pricing or product information received from our suppliers, we shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for products or services listed at the incorrect price. We shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, we will immediately issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the charge.

- Privacy and Customer Information
We are committed to protecting your privacy. To make your shopping experience more convenient, we gather information about you. We maintain the privacy of your information using security technologies and adhere to policies that prevent unauthorized use of your personal information. See our Privacy Policy.
At any time you may update your customer account information by visiting the Account Settings page, or by following the instructions posted elsewhere on this platform. On the Account Settings page you may update your name, password, billing address, shipping address, e-mail address, telephone number, and credit card information.
- Service and Support
We offer customer support, services, and training in accordance with the terms set forth on this platform. Additional requests for technical service and support with respect to the products and services available through our e-commerce site may also be made directly to the manufacturer in accordance with their terms and conditions as set forth in the manual and relating information accompanying their products. We will do our best to help you; however, we cannot guarantee that every problem will be resolved to your satisfaction.

- Force Majeure
In addition to any excuse provided by applicable law, we shall be excused from liability for nondelivery or delay in delivery of products available through our e-commerce site arising from any event beyond our reasonable control, whether or not foreseeable by either party, including but not limited to, labor disturbance, war, fire, accident, adverse weather, inability to secure transportation, governmental act or regulation, and other causes or events beyond our reasonable control, whether or not similar to those which are enumerated above.
- Entire Agreement
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement and understanding between us concerning the subject matter hereof and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings of the parties with respect thereto. These terms and conditions may NOT be altered, supplemented, or amended by the use of any other document(s). Any attempt to alter, supplement or amend this document or to enter an order for products or services which are subject to additional or altered terms and conditions shall be null and void, unless otherwise agreed to in a written agreement signed by you and us. To the extent that anything in or associated with this platform is in conflict or inconsistent with these terms and conditions, these terms and conditions shall take precedence.
- Governing Law and Statute of Limitations
Our e-commerce site (excluding linked websites) is controlled by us from our offices within the State of California, United States of America. It can be accessed from all 50 states, as well as from other countries around the world. As each of these places has laws that may differ from those of California, by accessing this platform both of us agree that the statutes and laws of the State of California, without regard to the conflicts of laws principles thereof, will apply to all matters relating to the use of our e-commerce site and the purchase of products and services available through this platform. Except as otherwise provided in the Terms of Use, each of us agrees and hereby submits to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of the Superior Court of Fresno County and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California with respect to such matters.
We make no representation that the products and services available through our e-commerce site are appropriate or available for use in locations outside of the United States, and accessing them from territories where such products and services are illegal is prohibited. Those who choose to access this platform from other locations do so on their own initiative and are responsible for compliance with local laws.
Any cause of action brought by you against us or our Affiliates must be instituted within 3 year(s) after the cause of action arises or be deemed forever waived and barred.
Online Orders
Buy Online, Pickup in Store
Electric Motor Shop offers two options for your online purchase: pick your order up at a store near you OR have it shipped to you.
At ElectricMotorShop.com, you can view the availability status at a store near you and make your purchase online. Then, all you have to do is stop by and pick up your order at the store.
- Locate your nearest EMS store
- Select the item(s) you’d like to purchase
- Choose the “Pick up in Store” option
- Add the item(s) to your cart
- Review your order and complete your purchase
- You will receive a confirmation email (this is not a receipt; this does not mean your order is ready to pick up—we’re letting you know we’re processing your order)
- We will contact you when your order is ready to be picked up—the amount of time will vary; please wait until you’ve received this to come pick up your order
- Please bring a valid photo ID, such as a driver’s license, to the store.
- Once you arrive, call your local EMS store’s phone number and a team member will bring your items to your vehicle.
We will hold your order for fourteen (14) days, after which it may be cancelled and refunded.
Important Note
In the event that the cardholder is unable to personally pick up the order (such as the order being placed at a store in another state for a family member), please designate a pick up person in checkout while placing your order.
Buy Online, Ship to Your Address
Once you’ve selected a store and the items you’re looking for, you can choose the “Ship to Address” option to have your order delivered to you.
- Find the store near you that is stocking the item(s) you need
- Select the item(s) you’d like to purchase
- Choose the “Ship to Address” option
- Add the item(s) to your cart
- Review your order and check out
- On the Delivery page, you’ll enter your address and select a shipping method*
- You will receive a confirmation email letting you know we’re processing your order
You’ll be able to monitor the status of any item(s) purchased for delivery by logging into your account and selecting the “Order History” tab. A link to track your order is also included in your confirmation email.

*Each item you add to your cart will give you a choice of available shipping options, which may include Standard Ground, Two Day or Next Day.
Special Orders
If you’re looking for an item that’s not in stock, email us at internet.sales@electricmotorshop.com or your local EMS store can help. Just call or stop by for more details.
“Special order” items are subject to the vendor’s return policy. Approval from our vendors must be obtained before you can return special order items to Electric Motor Shop.
Shipping & Delivery
We offer a variety of shipping options to meet your shipping needs. We use only premium carriers (UPS and FedEx) with various delivery options available for many items. All shipping prices are quoted in United States dollars. All deliveries are insured and guaranteed against loss, theft and damage. All shipping prices are quoted in United States dollars. No C.O.D. orders can be accepted, unless otherwise approved by EMS in writing. All delivery dates are estimates. The posted shipping time frame is listed on the individual product page and may vary from item to item. There may be occasional delays beyond the posted order processing time. If the delay is more than 90 business days, we will send you an e-mail message notifying you of the delay. If the delay will be less than 30 business days, we will ship the product as soon as it is received. If your product is on backorder for more than 90 business days, we will send you an e-mail message asking if you want to cancel the order. If you do not advise us that you would like to cancel the order, we will keep the order active and continue to send you inquiries until the order is cancelled or delivery occurs.
The risk of loss and title for products purchased from EMS pass to you upon our delivery of the products to the carrier.
Shipping Restrictions
We do not ship to any locations outside the 50 United States. EMS reserves the right to modify or end this offer at any time without notice.
Why is ground shipping the only method available for my Ship to Address order?
Due to federal transportation regulations and shipping carrier policy, some items are restricted to ground methods for Ship to Home delivery. These items will display only one available shipping method option during checkout.
Same Day Shipping
When should I expect my Same Day order to arrive?
Same Day delivery orders will be delivered on or before the estimated time shown in checkout when you place your order, which may change based on weather, weight, product availability, shipping address, and geographic limitations.
Why is Same Day shipping not an option in my area?
Only predetermined markets and orders occurring within Same Day-activated zip codes (Fresno and Visalia area) qualify for Same Day shipping, and this option will not be displayed for orders outside of these designated shipping areas.
How much is Same Day shipping for my order?
Same Day shipping costs are determined on a by-order basis, dependent on weight and dimensions of the items ordered. All final shipping fees and arrival times for Same Day shipping are reported at checkout.
Why is there an option to tip for Same Day Delivery?
Same Day Delivery order drivers are contracted through a third-party organization and are not EMS employees. For that reason, tipping your delivery driver is encouraged to demonstrate your appreciation for their prompt service, but is always optional. This tip goes directly to the driver, not to EMS or their third-party delivery platform partner. Tips are also not refundable in the case that your order needs to be returned.
Addresses
Can I have my order shipped to a location outside of the United States?
ElectricMotorShop.com ships only to locations within the United States. Shipment to international addresses, including Canada and Mexico, is not offered.
Can I have my order shipped to a different address than my home or company’s business address?
Yes, you can enter a different shipping address during the checkout process.
For security purposes, we may contact you to verify your order if the billing and shipping addresses do not match.
Can I have parts shipped to an APO or FPO address?
EMS does not currently offer shipping—by USPS or any other carriers—to APO or FPO addresses or to any of the U.S Territories. We are keeping an eye on requests for this service for future consideration. Please check back with us.
Can I have parts delivered to a PO Box?
Currently, orders shipping from our e-commerce site cannot be delivered to Post Office boxes. A physical street address is required.
Delivery Times
When will I get my order?
All delivery dates shown on our e-commerce site are estimates; it is not possible to guarantee a delivery date. Generally, when an order is shipped via Standard Ground, your order will arrive in 3 to 5 days (excluding weekends and holidays). Estimated delivery dates will be available on the checkout page. The email you received confirming your shipment contains a link to tracking.
Will I have my choice of Standard, Priority or Expedited shipping for every item I purchase?
No— every item you purchase for delivery will show you all available shipping options, but it is possible that not all options will be available, depending on the item.
Tracking a Package
Can I see where my package is while it’s on the way?
A link for package tracking is included in the email confirming the shipment of your order. You may also log in using the EMS Site, select “Account” and then “Order History” to track a specific shipment.

How is my credit card processed when I order online?
At the time you place an online order, the credit card information you provided will be validated and the system will verify that sufficient funds are available in your account. If any of the information provided during checkout fails to coincide with the information on file for the credit card used, the order will not be completed.
For security purposes, we may contact you to verify your order if the billing and shipping addresses do not match.
When will I be charged for an online order?
The payment method selected will be charged when your order ships. If in-store pickup is selected, the payment method will be charged when the order is designated ready for pickup. If the order is not picked up within 14 days, a full refund will be issued to your original payment method.
Can I use an international credit card for an online purchase?
International credit cards are not accepted on shop.ElectricMotorShop.com. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards issued by U.S. banks or credit card companies with U.S. billing addresses.
What is a security code? – Card Identification Number (CID) or Card Verification Value (CVV)
In our ongoing effort to provide a secure shopping experience, the CID or CVV from the selected credit or debit card is required each time an order is placed with that payment method. EMS does not store this security number.
The CID for Visa, MasterCard, and Discover cards is a 3-digit number located on the back of the card, printed on the signature panel immediately following the account number. The CID for American Express cards is a 4-digit number located on the front of the card, printed just above the account number.
Can I split order payment between multiple credit cards?
No more than one credit card or debit card can be used on a single online order. It is also not possible split orders between a credit or debit card and an additional payment method.
Can I pay by check?
The shop.ElectricMotorShop.com Online Store only accepts the payment options listed above to process an online order. Any of our store locations will gladly accept cash and checks.
How do I use contactless payment at EMS stores?
EMS stores accept contactless or NFC payment from your credit/debit card or mobile device. Payment is initiated by holding your card or phone over card reader screen, and the card or device should not be removed until a successful payment notification is displayed. You may then need to complete the transaction by following prompts that appear on your device or the card reader screen.
If your phone, wearable device, or card supports contactless payment, any of the accepted listed payment options above can be used at the time of checkout.
Order Cancellation
Is it possible for me to cancel my online order?
If for some reason you need to cancel an order made on shop.ElectricMotorShop.com, please contact Online Order Support directly at (800) 970-5859.
Pick Up In-Store Orders may be cancelled at any time. Ship to Address orders may be cancelled any time before the order is boxed for delivery.
Same Day orders are not able to be cancelled after the order has been placed due to the rapid nature of their processing and delivery. When a Same Day order is placed, you will need to wait for the order to be delivered and then return it to the store to receive a refund or perform an exchange. Tips for Same Day orders are provided directly to the delivery driver and are not refundable, as the delivery will still be completed.
Missing Orders
My order should have been here by now. How can I be sure it isn’t lost or stolen?
First, check the tracking number included in your confirmation email. You can also log into ElectricMotorShop.com, select “My Account” and then “Order History” for this information. Once you have confirmed the delivery was completed, check with your colleagues or members of your household to make sure someone else didn’t receive the package. Look behind any bushes or furniture near the delivery location, and if necessary, check with your neighbors.
If you still haven’t located the package, filing a stolen property report with your local police is a good idea.
Next, contact EMS/Online Order Support by phone, chat or email. We will note on the order record that the delivered package is missing or possibly stolen from the location and file a Missing Package Report on your behalf with the shipping carrier. This does not guarantee your order will be replaced or refunded.
EMS is not responsible for replacing or refunding any order that shows to be delivered in shipping carrier’s tracking. The security of deliveries becomes the responsibility of the customer once the order reaches the addressed location. Neither UPS, FedEx nor EMS is responsible to replacing product that is missing or stolen from the delivery location. Only after UPS and FedEx investigates and accepts the claim as mis-delivered can a refund be considered. If UPS/FedEx validates the delivery was completed as indicated, no reimbursement will be issued.
Missing orders, missing parts, wrong parts or damaged packages must be reported to EMS within 48 hours of the shipping carrier confirming that the order was delivered.
Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges
We offer a 30-day return policy on selected items based on the manufacturer’s return policies. To return products, you must call (800) 970-5859 or e-mail us at internet.sales@electricmotorshop.com to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number before shipping your product. No returns of any type will be accepted without an RMA number. For faster service, please have the following information on hand when calling for an RMA number: customer name, invoice or order number, SKU number, and nature of the problem.
To expedite the processing of your refund or credit, we ask that products be returned within 30 days of the date that we issue the RMA. All returned products MUST be 100% complete, contain ALL original boxes and packing materials, have original UPC codes on the manufacturer boxes, and contain all manuals, blank warranty and registration cards, and other accessories and documentation provided by the manufacturer. You are responsible for shipping charges on returned items. You must insure the shipment or accept the risk of loss or damage during shipment. We strongly recommend that you fully insure your return shipment against loss or damage and that you use a carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery for your protection.
If your order arrives in a damaged condition, save the merchandise AND the original box and packing it arrived in, and notify us immediately to arrange for a carrier inspection and a pick up of the damaged merchandise.

Returns can be accepted directly by us within 30 days from the invoice date for, at our discretion, credit or exchange. All NONDEFECTIVE returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee. For DEFECTIVE product returns, see the “Defective Product Returns” section below. Restocking fees may be higher in some instances, and freight fees may be added to return the item to the factory.
Both online and in-store purchases can be returned to your local store. An original purchase receipt is required for all returns, and we ask that you make your return as soon as possible. Return requirements include:
- The item must be in its original packaging with no excessive markings on the outer packaging
- Must include all original materials supplied with the product
- Must be unopened, uninstalled, and must have never been powered on

Online Order Returns
Items purchased online can be returned to any EMS store, or can be shipped back to EMS once the return has been authorized. You’ll still need to follow the return guidelines above when sending in a new return. Please keep the following in mind:
- Customers are responsible for all shipping costs*
- If you return an item you didn’t buy from us, you’ll have to pay shipping to have it sent back to you
In order to submit a return, you must obtain an RMA (Return Material Authorization) number from shop.ElectricMotorShop.com. If you placed your order as a guest, you can email us at internet.sales@electricmotorshop.com call our Customer Support team at (800) 970-5859to request an RMA.
An order placed using your EMS account can also be submitted for return using the following Return Process:
- Return Initiation: To initiate a return, please log in to your account and navigate to the order history page. From there, select the specific order containing the item(s) you wish to return and follow the prompts to start the return process.
- Approval and Return Authorization Number: Once your return request is submitted, it will be reviewed for approval. Upon approval, an RMA number will be generated and emailed to you. Please note that returns without a valid RMA number will not be processed.
- Labeling: Write the issued Return Material Authorization number on the packing slip or invoice copy included with your return shipment. Additionally, prominently display the RMA number on the outside of the box or envelope (without marking on the actual packaging) being returned.
- Condition: Ensure that the merchandise being returned is in new and resalable condition. It must be returned in its original packaging along with any certifications, instructions, etc.
Certain items are not eligible for return/exchange. Prior to ordering such items, we will confirm with you in writing that the item(s) are not eligible for return/exchange.
*Shipping charges are non-refundable
Returns of Cash & Check Sales
Returns for cash and check sales will be reimbursed by check, which will be mailed out. Refunds will not be provided at the time of the return.
Defective Product Returns
DEFECTIVE returns can be returned directly to us within 30 days from the invoice date for, at our discretion, credit, replacement, exchange or repair. Manufacturer restrictions do apply. Any item that is missing the UPC can ONLY be replaced with the same item. After 30 days, all manufacturers’ warranties apply and you should contact the appropriate warrant service provider identified in the product description.
Some manufacturers do not accept returns of certain items for exchange, replacement or credit FOR ANY REASON, and you should check the information provided with the description of the particular product. DEFECTIVE merchandise can be returned for REPAIR only to the manufacturer directly or to any authorized service center in your area. See the description of the particular product for warranty information as provided by the manufacturer.
Same Day Order Returns
If your order was placed for Same Day delivery, returns must be completed in-store. Please keep in mind that if you added a tip for your delivery driver during checkout, that payment was provided to the driver directly and cannot be refunded.

Special Order Returns
Special order items are subject to the vendor’s return policy. Approval from our vendors must be obtained before customers can return special order items to Electric Motor Shop.
When will my return/exchange be complete?
If you’re requesting an exchange, you’ll get an order confirmation email once that new order has been placed on our end. If you’re requesting a refund, we’ll send you an email confirmation as soon as we’ve processed the refund for you.
State-Specific Delivery Fees
Some states have mandated delivery fees that are to be collected at the time of purchase. All applicable fees and taxes will be calculated based on delivery address and displayed during checkout.
A $0.28 delivery fee will be added to any order delivered to Colorado addresses via any shipping or delivery service using a motor vehicle. “Buy Online, Pick Up in Store” orders will not be assessed a delivery fee. This fee is refundable if the order is cancelled, but will not be refunded if the item or items are returned.
Frequently Asked Questions About ElectricMotorShop.com Orders
What do I do if I receive a processing error for my payment?
You may need to contact your financial institution for assistance on declined payments. You are always welcome to submit an alternate payment method for your order if you are unable to resolve the payment issue with your financial institution in a timely manner.
Common reasons for failed payment authorizations:
- The billing address you are providing does not match what your financial institution has on file.
- The security code CID/CVV is incorrect for the credit card number you have provided.
- All lines to your financial institution could be temporarily busy.
- Daily withdrawal or purchase limits.
- Insufficient funds.
Note: Some financial institutions have been known to hold these authorizations for 7-10 business days.
Why does my order say “Error. There was a problem processing your payment. Please try again”?
At the time an order is placed, our system first verifies the funds are available, then validates the credit card information you submitted. If the entered information fails to coincide with what is on file for the credit card, our security system will deny the order and credit the amount back. The verified funds will be “Pre-Auth” on your account. Your credit card company/bank will usually release the funds back to your account within the same day.
Please make sure the following information is entered correctly on the checkout page when placing the order:
- Credit or Debit Card number.
- The card expiration date.
- The CID number.
- The exact Name and Billing Address as it is printed on your Credit Card statement.
Errors in any of this information will cause the order to be rejected.

Why do you need my phone number during checkout?
EMS uses your phone number as a reference for all warranties. Your phone number used at checkout will not be used for any marketing activity or released to third parties, with the exception of being provided to third party delivery partners if the Same-Day delivery option is selected. Why might I pay more or less at my local store than the online total check out amount?
Because actual pricing and sales tax costs vary slightly from location to location and because of local specials and discounts, your final check out total shown here may not reflect the actual amount you will pay when you check out at one of our retail store locations. When shopping at one of our stores, you will be required to pay the price determined at the time you check out.

Why am I being charged sales tax?
EMS is required to collect taxes in states where we have a physical presence (presently, only California). We are also required to calculate your taxes based on where your order is being shipped. As a result, if we have a physical presence in the state we are shipping your order, we are required by law to charge all applicable state and local taxes.
Why aren’t there images and descriptions for some of your parts?
EMS is constantly working with our vendors to improve your online shopping experience by providing more detailed descriptions and images for our products. Please call or visit an EMS store for more details.
